The eight deputies of the DP, excluded from the majority for 10 days from the Assembly, will try to enter today's plenary session.
The news was announced by the vice-president of the DP, Luciano Boçi, during the meeting of the parliamentary group. He said that the decision to expel the 8 MPs was out of order and the rules of the Assembly were not respected and therefore none of the MPs have any reason to respect the 'punishment' and they will enter the hall.
"Today it moves to another step in front of the parliament, an institution transformed into a blind and murderous mechanism of free speech and the elimination of the opposition. In the form of political trials, 8 MPs were expelled, where the decision was taken outside of any rules and laws, outside of any parliamentary procedure. Those who participated in the punishment do not have to respect laws that prevent them from entering the parliament hall. We will enter the parliament hall, the hall belongs to the citizens. Our battle will be both inside the hall and outside the hall", Boçi said.
While the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared that with the exclusion of 8 deputies from the plenary sessions of the Assembly, an open conflict was being sought. He said that the Parliament is not respecting the rights of the deputies who represent 750 thousand citizens who voted for them on April 25, 2021.
"For the right to speak, the MPs have been expelled from other parliaments, in violation of every law and rule, they were declared expelled from the group by order of Edi Rama, all this. However, the opposition MPs represent 750,000 voters who voted for the opposition forces in the last elections. To ignore 750,000 voters in this way, to behave with this brutality and this wild hostility towards them, does nothing but ask for open conflict. In these conditions, we started our revolution yesterday to continue it in the 4 corners of the country until its triumph. There is no question that parliament is an extremely important epicenter. If the constitution is violated in the parliament, if the rules of the parliament are violated, then the laws have come to an end and everything remains in the will of a man"Berisha stated
