The small parties have proposed to President Bajram Begaj the date of May 4 for the holding of the next electoral elections.
This is what the head of the Agrarian Environmentalist Party, Agron Duka, said in a statement to the media after the meeting with the head of state. He also argued the reasons why small parties propose this date.
" We proposed May 4. The constitution provides for April 15-May 15, the most reasonable for us is May, it is rumored that on May 9 there is a big activity with the participation of the prime ministers of Europe, we think that the date 11 is inappropriate. I believe that the president will meet others. We have given our proposal. We have been chatting for an hour now. The constitution defines 4 Sundays, two of April, two of May, but the date of the 11th can have a significant impact on the election that it falls to close the campaign on the 9th and gather those of Europe. And that's not normal ."
Asked if this is also the DP's opinion, Duka said that the DP will come to the meeting with the head of state and will consult on its own.
President Bajram Begaj started this Wednesday the consultations to set and decree the date of the 2025 parliamentary elections. The first to go to Begaj's office are Dashamir Shehi, Fatmir Mediu, Agron Duka and Vangjel Dule. The meeting with the leaders of the four opposition parties, LZHK, PR, PAA and PBDNJ in the Presidency lasted about an hour.
The Socialist Party and the Democratic Party, as well as the representatives of the CEC, were called to a meeting by the President on Monday.
