The Central Election Commission has set today July 23 for the repeat of the local elections in the Municipality of Rrogozhina.

The decision was made today, after earlier the Electoral College had given the green light for holding new elections for Mayor.

In Rrogozhina, there was a contestation of the result by the "Together We Win" coalition because of the "prison box", the ballot box of prisoners serving their sentence in Rrogozhina Prison, which according to them had given the victory with a small margin to the socialist candidate Edison Memo.

After the animation, the box was recounted but the result remained the same, while the difference between Memolla and Shkelqim Hoxha of "BF" narrowed from 30 to 21 votes.

Another municipality where new elections are expected to be held is that of Kukës. The chairman, already resigned and behind bars, Safet Gjici left after the erotic video scandal in his office.
