Berisha: Subsidies for every livestock and planted seedlings
DP Chairman, Sali Berisha

During the meetings he is holding with fashion businesses in Durrës, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has also spoken about promoting domestic production.

He said they will subsidize every livestock, production unit, and planted seedlings in order to increase local production and reduce prices.

" Eurostat has published an interesting study. It shows the price trend in Albania 2006-2013 with the price trend in Albania in 2018-2024 compared to the price trends in the EU. What is interesting is that in those years, the price trend in Albania was decreasing and compared to the price trend in the EU. Only one reason, production because livestock was supported, agriculture was supported and they began to be profiled according to the areas where they earn more, the whole of Myzeqeja was oriented towards greenhouses and cows.

What happened to them? These people came, the ones who brought chemical fertilizers and other agricultural inputs doubled or tripled the price. The price of grass increased, he could no longer support the cow and there was a massive slaughter of purebred cows, of small ones. We will subsidize for every head of cattle, for every production unit, for every seedling planted. We do not have much land, we have a little, but with excellent fertility. Albania is a blessed country, full of water.

"The Banja hydroelectric power plant was not built for energy, it is a hydro-energy complex for irrigation and energy. It produces 50 megawatts of energy. But if it invests, it will irrigate the entire Myzeqen ," Berisha said.
