Chief democrat Lulzim Basha apologized to all the democrats amid applause, promising to start a new path. From the National Assembly of the DP, Basha said that the purpose of the blue headquarters is to offer solutions to Albanians.

He considers this National Assembly called by him to be the start of a new path for the Democratic Party.

Basha also stopped at the division in the Democratic Party, apologizing deeply to the democrats and Albanians as a whole that, according to him, the opposition left them at the mercy of a corrupt government.

"Our compatriots have lost hope. They turned their eyes to the government but see no hope. I know they turned their eyes to us, and waited for us to be their voice. But we fought each other instead of fighting for the people. For you. We fought for walls and buildings, instead of fighting for the empty houses of Albanians. For your homes.

We fought for chairs and offices, instead of fighting for jobs for our young men and women. For your well-being. We left you at the mercy of a government that mistreats democrats, demotivates young people, and despises Albanians. At the mercy of a government that abuses you daily.

It would be easy to do what others have been doing for years, to put the blame elsewhere, to blame anyone. But that would be hypocrisy. It would be pretense.

I did not come today to pretend to the Democrats. Today, I deeply apologize to the democrats, and on behalf of the democrats, on behalf of the Democratic Party, I apologize to the Albanians. The reason we are here together, the reason we exist as a political force is to serve the people, not ourselves! The purpose of our existence is to offer Albanians an alternative to their governance, solutions to their problems, solutions to their problems, a vision for their future. After apologizing to the Albanians on behalf of the Democratic Party for the situation created in the ranks of the Democrats, Lulzim Basha declared that everything is a thing of the past.

According to Basha, a new path awaits the PD as a political force, but also in its role to change Albania.

“Sot në këtë sallë dhe jashtë saj, shumë nga ne kanë akoma me vete shenjat e plagëve nga kjo luftë e brendshme e shëmtuar! Por që sot e tutje ne duhet ta lëmë pas këtë konflikt, t’ia lëmë atë të shkuarës dhe autorëve të librave të historisë. Arsyeja pse ne qëndruam dhe sot jemi mbledhur për të nisur bashkë një rrugë të re, janë njerëzit, janë shqiptarët që presin nga ne, janë të rinjtë e papunë dhe ata që duan një vizion për të ardhmen, janë familjet e reja që duan të dëgjojnë nga ne se Shqipëria do të bëhet më mirë!Sepse nuk ka asnjë emër të përveçëm që të dalë përpara interesit tonë kombëtar! Sepse duke parafrazuar një nga mendjet tona më të ndritura, Sami Frashërin: Shqipëria ka qenë, Shqipëria është dhe Shqipëria do të bëhet! Sado e vështirë të duket rruga jonë e re sot, ne atë do ta përshkojmë së bashku deri në fund, sepse  Shqipëria do të bëhet! Sado pengesa të na hedhin dhe ferra të na ngatërrohen nëpër këmbë, ne do të qëndrojmë e do të vazhdojmë pa asnjë mëdyshje rrugëtimin tonë sepse Shqipëria do të bëhet! Sado e kalbur t’ju duket politika të rinjve, ajo do të ndryshojë me patjetër sepse Shqipëria do të bëhet! Sado të turbullta t’ju duken qiejt dhe ujërat e Trekëndëshit të Bermudës, koha do hapet dhe qielli ynë do kthjellohet sepse Shqipëria do të bëhet!”, tha Basha.
