"9 countries have blocked Albania with a veto", Rama reacts from the

Prime Minister Edi Rama commented for the first time on rumors that nine EU countries have vetoed Albania's integration into the EU.

"We are looking at this issue of membership from both sides. The process has one side that is related to, one side that is related to them. The EU is like this here with two floors, where on the first floor there are thousands of employees who deal with all aspects of the EU, part of that first floor deals with following the process for countries that want to join. In the way we complete the tasks, they send the letter to the second floor. Those on the second floor do not see the details like those on the first floor.

The first floor as a school, the second as a job. One is enough to say no on the second floor, it is not done, 27 states must be in agreement. All these reforms and processes make Albania a state, therefore they are an extremely useful exercise for us. Albania becomes an EU country. We must be ready. This 9 states is a complete joke. The joke that 9 states have vetoed, one vetoes, but if 9 is no longer a veto. There is no such thing at all", said Rama.
