A new study conducted by American researchers has revealed worrying findings regarding cardiovascular health in men.

According to data published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, the tipping point where the risk of heart attack begins to accelerate in men is their mid-30s.

This age is considered critical, as it marks the beginning of a major divergence between men and women in terms of heart health. The study, which followed over 5,000 people for about 34 years, showed that the first disparities begin specifically at age 35.

The main difference comes from coronary heart disease (CHD), which is the leading cause of heart attacks.

According to the study, men reach high risk levels about seven to ten years earlier than women.

Expert Alexa Freedman says that although 35 may seem like a young age, heart disease develops silently over decades.

Factors such as blood pressure, cholesterol, smoking and physical activity play a key role, but even after adjusting for these factors, men remain at higher risk. This suggests that sex hormones and genetics also play an important role in this gender difference.

The researchers' main message is clear: prevention needs to start early. Given that men are less likely than women to have regular medical check-ups, this study calls for a change in approach.

Encouraging preventive visits starting at age 30 can help identify risk factors early and implement life-saving strategies in the long term.
