"Our parents wanted us to be perfect", accused of cannabis cultivation in Australia, Elvis Pupa reacts again

The famous comedian, Elvis Pupa, was accused a few days ago by Australian authorities of cultivating cannabis.

He has chosen to react again on social media through a video message.

" Everyone aims to be perfect. I was born in the late 70s and you lived your childhood in the 80s… obobo… They always told us: 'Don't talk, eat what we put in front of you.' But back then, you had no chance to make a mistake, don't dare to make a mistake, because then you were not a person, you were the shame of the family, the shame of the tribe, the shame of society, the shame of the school and the shame of the neighborhood. As a result, parents said: 'This is not my child. I didn't raise him like this.'

Our parents were perfectionists. They were. And not the kind that simply kept the house clean, because it is known that when the neighbors came, they would test with two fingers, that there was no laboratory that could pass their testing to see when was the last time you had dusted the house. Perfectionism was the type that if you said a word wrong, your parents wouldn't speak to you for a week, they wouldn't even look you in the eye. They would walk by you... I always said: 'How is it possible that they don't step on me. They walk by so perfectly, as if I didn't exist.'

And so you grow up with the idea that you have to grow up perfect. You have to walk properly and behave properly. In the end you don't end up a human being, but an anxious robot. Perfectionism is not a virtue. It's an emotional poison, but with a trendy name. It's not ambition, bro. It's not success, but it's a voice inside your head that always says: 'You're not doing enough yet,' even though you've given everything, even your soul. The irony is that our parents didn't hate us, quite the opposite. They wanted us to be perfect so that the world would appreciate us, not trample on us. But the world still tramples on you and does it with a smile, tramples you with class.

I don't say this for approval, nor do I care about your opinion, because my personal life is personal. You don't owe me anything and I don't owe you anything. Not at all ! ", Pupa said in his video message.
