Lung surgery prevented him from flying, Diogo Jota was traveling to the port to take the ferry to England

"CNN Portugal" has revealed another fact regarding what happened to Diogo Jota and his brother in Spain in the early hours of today.

According to the media outlet in question, the player was advised by doctors not to take the plane to return to England after having undergone lung surgery just a few days earlier.

"He was on his way to northern Spain where a ferry was waiting for him at the port of Santander as he would travel by sea to England. He had set off with his brother, bound for Liverpool," CNN Portugal revealed.

Another Portuguese journalist, Victor Pinto, claimed for the "CMTV channel" that: "Diogo Jota often traveled to England by car because he had lung problems and flying worried him. There was nothing serious, but he also preferred to take a ferry that connects the north of Spain with the south of England on other occasions."
