This is the richest king in the world

It's hard to find a more outlandish and extravagant figure than Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn, officially known as Rama X.

His personal collection includes 17,000 properties, 38 private jets, over 300 luxury cars and a whopping 52 ceremonial golden ships. A wealth that seems incredible, but which for the monarch is part of everyday life.

Rama X ascended to the throne in 2016, following the death of his father, the legendary King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

With the crown, he also inherited a fortune of around 43 billion dollars, which immediately made him the richest king in the world.

But he has known how to invest carefully, adding new profits to his legacy.

His 17,000 properties in Bangkok alone generate huge rental income, while luxury construction projects in key areas of the capital have multiplied his profits. Rama X also owns stakes in strategic energy and telecommunications companies, building an economic empire that goes beyond the family inheritance.

Born the only son of King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit, Vajiralongkorn was groomed for his role early on. He studied at military academies in Australia and the UK, and was also trained as a jet and helicopter pilot. In his youth, he participated in military missions within the country, combining the military aspect with limitless luxury.

Rama X remains a contradictory figure: a king between Thailand's sacred tradition and endless extravagance, a symbol of a country torn between piety and excessive splendor.
