Believe it or not! 20 camels are "disqualified" from a beauty contest

A rare incident has "spoilt" a camel beauty pageant in Oman. 20 camels have been disqualified from a prestigious competition after organizers discovered that their owners had undergone cosmetic surgery on their animals.

Camel beauty pageants, popular in the Gulf countries, are considered events of great cultural and Bedouin heritage importance. Thousands of camels compete each year for prizes worth millions of pounds, and the competition is not just about looks, but also about the animals' character and behavior.

However, in this latest edition in Oman, some camel breeders have attempted to profit by using illegal methods.

Inspectors discovered that some camels had been injected with Botox to plump their lips, muscle relaxants to soften facial features, as well as silicone injections to enlarge their humps.

The organizers emphasized that the rules for cleaning and maintaining the integrity of the competitions are very strict, and any violation leads to immediate disqualification.
