Dua Lipa has clarified the situation regarding the news that she fired her agent for her stance on Palestine.
The internationally renowned Albanian star has responded with the words "completely false" and "intentionally harmful" to the news that she fired her agent after a letter demanding that the band Kneecap not perform at the Glastonbury festival.
“I do not support the actions of David Levy or other music managers towards an artist who speaks his truth. I also cannot ignore the way this has been treated in the press. Not only was the article completely false, but the language used by the Daily Mail was deliberately hurtful, clearly designed to get clicks and encourage online sharing. I am always for a Free Palestine, but the exploitation of a world tragedy to sell newspapers is something that deeply concerns me.”
A WME spokesperson said Levy has not been involved in Dua's management since 2019 and this year has completely withdrawn from projects.
Dua has long expressed her stance on Palestine and has signed letters to President Biden calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, supported #AllEyesOnRafah, and urged the British government to act.
She has openly said she is "ready" to face criticism for her stance, saying it is "for the greater good."
