Emma Heming-Willis, the wife of American actor Bruce Willis, announced that she will donate her husband's brain after his death for scientific research, according to the Washington Post.

The 70-year-old actor was diagnosed three years ago with frontotemporal dementia, a health condition that affects memory, communication and cognitive skills.

The British-American model and actress called the decision emotionally difficult but important for science.

According to her, this will help scientists study frontotemporal dementia, which Bruce Willis also suffers from.

In 2022, Bruce ended his acting career for health reasons.

A year later, the actor's family reported that Willis was suffering from frontotemporal dementia.

There is currently no treatment for the disease. Heming noted that as her husband's condition worsened, conversations about his possible death became an integral part of their family life.

At the end of the summer, Bruce Willis' relatives decided to move him to another home, where he is under the 24-hour supervision of caregivers.

Emma said she made this decision for the sake of their daughters, 11-year-old Evelyn and 13-year-old Mabel.
