Agron Llakaj has shared a touching and heartbreaking account of the loss of his late wife, Kostandina, who passed away last year after a long battle with the disease.

In a recent interview, Llakaj spoke about the most difficult period of his life - the separation from the woman he called "the heart of the family."

"I didn't take the trust from Constantine, I didn't accept it. I kept more than I should have. I couldn't accept the idea of ??separation, of the end, of her leaving," he said.

The actor painfully recalled his last trip to Turkey, where hopes for recovery were completely dashed.

"When we went to Turkey last time, I took the knife. The doctor took me aside and told me it was over. I said, you said 5-6 years. We would sell everything for Kostandinë's life," Llakaj added.
For two weeks, the actor kept the truth to himself, lying in order to protect his children and wife from the painful reality.

"For two weeks I don't know how I got around. I told the kids and we continued to act like nothing had happened. I would go on the show, laugh at the screen, so that she would say: 'He laughs, I'm fine,'" he said.
One of the most touching moments he shared was the one of the last goodbye with his wife

"I told my daughter: 'Daddy's heart, mom deserves to go away like a beautiful bride.' We did professional makeup. We both stood there, crying, doing makeup," said the actor.
The period after the separation was extremely difficult for the actor, who did not hide that he went through moments of deep despair:

"For many days and nights I didn't want to live. I wanted to run away, to join them. The children cried out to me: 'Dad, it's us,'" Llakaj added.
