Russian President Vladimir Putin says he would rather have Joe Biden at the head of the White House than Donald Trump, referring to the US elections in November of this year.

In an interview for a Russian television, Vladimir Putin praised President Biden as a more experienced and predictable person, the BBC reports.

He said that President Biden's leadership would be better for Russia because, according to him, he is "an experienced, predictable and old-school politician."

We recall that American President Joe Biden has been critical of Russian President Vladimir Putin for years and that he called the latter a "murderer" before the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

However, in his interview, Vladimir Putin said that Russia will work with whoever wins the trust of the American public for the Presidency.

Putin's unexpected comment also came to American media personality Tucker Carlson.

Surprised by Carlson's reserved approach during their recent interview, Putin admitted he expected a more adversarial line of questioning.

"To be honest, I expected him to be aggressive and ask so-called sharp questions. I just wasn't prepared for it," Putin confessed, revealing his strategic engagement with Western media as channels for dialogue amid strained relations.

Additionally, Putin took the opportunity to challenge US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's statements regarding Ukraine's historical identity. By drawing a link between Blinken's family history and assertions of Ukraine's territorial sovereignty, Putin sought to undermine Western narratives and cast doubt on the legitimacy of US diplomatic rhetoric.

"If the Secretary of State says his great-grandfather fled Russia, then he thinks there was no Ukraine," Putin asserted, creating a narrative that seeks to delegitimize Western narratives surrounding Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
