After the 2-hour meeting with Escobar and Lajçak, Kurti expressed his commitment to resolve the situation in the north.

He said that in order to continue the free and fair elections, the attacks by criminal groups against the special forces must be ended.

"In the meeting with Escobar and Lajcak, I expressed my unreserved commitment to de-escalation. The essential steps forward are an immediate end to attacks on security forces by violent extremists and criminal groups and the role of ensuring free and fair campaigning and elections," Kurti wrote.
