A spectacular robbery took place in the early hours of the morning in Italy, where an armed group raided an armored vehicle along a stretch of highway in the province of Reggio Calabria.

According to initial estimates, the amount of money stolen is estimated to be approximately two million euros. The attack took place inside a tunnel located between the Scilla and Bagnara intersections, heading north, where the criminals attacked the armored vehicle.

Several shots were heard during the attack, but no injuries were reported among the people in the van.

To obstruct traffic and prevent entry to the area, the robbers had placed two burned cars on the road and paved the asphalt with nails, creating a total traffic jam and thus preventing any possibility for the armored vehicle to escape. The area was secured by firefighters, who intervened together with police patrols.
