Ermal Sadiku, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) candidate for MP, reacted with irony after the publication of the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections held on Sunday, choosing social networks as a form of expression towards political developments.
According to official data published by the Central Election Commission (CEC), after counting over 94 percent of the votes, it results that the Self-Determination Movement (LVV) has emerged as the leading force with around 49.92 percent of the votes. The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) ranks second with 21.15 percent, while the LDK is positioned in third place with 13.81 percent.
In his reaction, Sadiku has published a short video on Facebook, accompanied by a song by singer Meda. In the background, the phrase "I wish I hadn't been alive on Sunday night" can be heard, which has been interpreted by followers as an ironic and symbolic reaction to his party's poor performance in this electoral process.
The post has prompted numerous comments and reactions online, with some seeing it as a light and humorous way to reflect on the disappointment after the elections, while others have considered it as indirect criticism of the LDK's performance.
Meanwhile, as the vote counting progresses, the results have not shown any major changes. So far, with over 96 percent of the votes counted, LDK continues to remain in third place with around 13.77 percent, confirming its decline compared to previous elections and opening discussions for reflection and reorganization within the party.
