Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko, who has initiated a bill in the Ukrainian Parliament to recognize Kosovo's independence, has reacted sharply to the stance taken by President Volodymyr Zelensky during his visit to Serbia.

Zelensky, while in Belgrade, said that Ukraine has no intention of changing its position on the non-recognition of Kosovo's independence. This statement was considered by Goncharenko as a "diplomatic mistake."

Through a publication on the social network "X", the Ukrainian MP shared his president's statement, adding a photo showing the removal of the "Free Ukraine" inscription from the Grand Hotel in Pristina.

Goncharenko stressed that the majority of Ukrainian citizens support Kosovo's independence and that, in his opinion, Kiev should officially recognize the Kosovo state. He vowed to continue the battle on this issue, expressing his belief that recognition by Ukraine is only a matter of time.

Goncharenko is considered one of the leading voices within the Ukrainian political scene who have openly called for the recognition of Kosovo, linking this step to his country's strategic interests and foreign policy.
