Budget causes debate in Turkish Parliament, MPs physically clash (VIDEO)

Turkish lawmakers were involved in a brawl on Sunday evening, during the final day of the budget debate. The deputies physically clashed and exchanged insults with each other, which lasted about 10 minutes.

Deputies from the ruling AKP party clashed with their colleagues from the Republican People's Party (CHP). The fight began after a heated debate between AKP deputy Mustafa Varank and CHP deputy Gokan Gunaydin.

"Bring your president, he should not be afraid of me. Fortunately, our people know the story of Ozgur Bey very well. Farmers living in cities governed by CHP municipalities are still waiting for the free tractors promised by Ozgur Ozel," Varkan said.

Gunaydin responded forcefully, accusing the ruling party of trying to reach a low point with belligerent statements. Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus suspended the session as security officials tried to separate the deputies who were involved in a scuffle.
