Representatives from US President Donald Trump's communications team have dismissed suggestions that he might use nuclear weapons against Iran.
Through a statement on "X" (Twitter) by Rapid Response 47, one of the semi-official White House communications accounts, in response to a tweet from a news outlet that suggested that US Vice President JD Vance had mentioned the possible use of nuclear weapons against Iran.
Vance said Iran would "get the appropriate response," saying, among other things: "We have tools in our toolbox that we have not yet decided to use. The president of the United States may decide to use them. And he will decide to use them if the Iranians do not change the course of their behavior."
“Absolutely nothing the Vice President said 'implies' this, you real fools!” Rapid Response 47’s statement said.
