Albin Kurti: Putin is obsessed with Kosovo
Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has said that the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, wants there to be a conflict in Kosovo.

Kurti says that Putin is very hindered by the success of Kosovo, so he is trying to destabilize it.

" Putin wants to incite conflict in Kosovo. I am cautious but never afraid. I am alert. Putin is obsessed with our country. He is happy with the lack of success of Western interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan. It angers him that the intervention was successful in Kosovo" , said Kurti in an interview for the Swiss newspaper "Blick".

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was also asked about the request he made to increase the number of KFOR forces in Kosovo.

" I have signaled my interest in increasing NATO troops, but of course it is up to NATO to decide. I think the fact that we have a bigger neighbor that doesn't recognize us and is cooperating more and more with the Kremlin should encourage NATO to increase its presence. This reduces the likelihood of conflict ," Kurti said.
