The Supreme Court overturned the decision of the Special Appeal for Arben Veliaj , who opposed the seizure of materials by the BKH as well as the searches carried out by agents in his apartment in December 2024.

The decision was made by the trio of judges Albana Boksi, Medi Bici and Sokol Binaj who, after a session held in the consulting room, decided to return the case to the Appeals Court for a retrial, to the same panel of judges.


After the third instance court issues its decision, in the Special Appeal, Judge Engert Pëllumbi will once again consider the appeal of Arbër Veliaj, who opposed the decision of the GJKKO to seize materials in his apartment and office, as well as the searches carried out in these two premises while he was abroad.

We recall that in December of last year, BKH agents, by order of SPAK and decision of the GJKKO, raided the apartment and office of Arbër Veliaj as part of the investigations that the Special Prosecution Office was conducting for his brother Erion Veliaj.

The checks resulted in the seizure of materials, electronic equipment and other items that are located in the SPAK offices and are being used to investigate the case.

On the same day, the phone of Ajola Xoxa, who is under the security measure "compulsory appearance", was also seized, as she is suspected of committing several criminal offenses.

The SPAK investigation into the mayor of Tirana is holding the latter in custody, under " house arrest " businessman Elman Abule , and under a more lenient measure five other businessmen, Shkëlqim Fuşa, Meriman Palushi, Sokol Kryeziu, Fatmir Bektashi and Gentian Sula .
