The Agency for the Management of State Guarantees and Irrevocable Credits (AMGKP) has managed to collect in the period March-July 2024 8 million dollars of irrecoverable obligations from third parties regarding loans granted through state guarantee schemes.

This figure is over ten times higher than the amount collected throughout the year 2023.

The agency is an institution subordinate to the Ministry of Finance and with the legal changes undertaken at the end of 2023, responsibilities were added to it, including the collection of loans granted during the pandemic period through state guarantee schemes.

The agency for the management of guarantees and unreturned loans was led from the end of February until the middle of August by the General Secretary of Finance at that time, Risena Xhaja, in the capacity of commanding director.

It turns out that precisely during this period, the amounts collected by the institution as problematic and unreturned loans are considerable.

Regarding the treatment of some loans where it is claimed that the Agency has not treated them at all or there are favoritism for some subjects for which the court has not been addressed for the declaration of bankruptcy, AMGKP informs that there are 66 subjects ShPC which are being verified case by case and following the legal procedures according to the recommendations and all cases are transferred from the second level banks.
