The real estate agencies in a joint statement address a voice to the Parliament to advance in relation to the approval of the 3% revaluation tax. This delay is resulting in fewer properties being sold.
According to the National Association of Real Estate Brokers of Albania, the delay in the parliamentary treatment of this proposal, the lack of its concretization and the uncertainty about the future have brought extremely negative effects on the current blocking of the market.
By delaying the treatment of this proposal, the gap of properties for sale deepens, withdrawing from the market until its final clarification.
The association further emphasizes that based on the national data of this sector, we note that compared to the years when this tax was kept at the level of 15%, during periods of fiscal relief where the tax rate is applied no more than 3%, the sector not only that knows growth and expansion, Albanians not only earn more, but the budget also collects more income, at the level of 35-40 million euros.
The association of real estate brokers shares the position that the consequence is the slowdown of transactions, stiffening investments, consumption of stock and bringing contraction in this sector, leading to its decline by 250-300 million euros.
