Soon the Albanian government will propose zero taxation on salaries up to 50 thousand ALL. This was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama during his speech in the Assembly.
Earlier, according to the draft, the beginnings would not be subject to income tax, salaries up to 40 thousand ALL, but the Prime Minister added that a change will be proposed within a few days, so that the increase will extend to salaries up to 50 thousand ALL.
"I have heard you say that we tax work more than capital and that we have the highest taxation in the region. The opposite is true. Labor in Albania is taxed less than in the whole region and goes to a maximum of 5.5%, just as Albania has the lowest taxes in the region. There is no small business in the region with zero tax, with zero VAT.
There is no zero tax in the region for salaries up to 400 thousand old lekë. And soon, within a few days we will bring the proposal to zero up to 500 thousand ALL, we will go beyond the commitment to halve it.
When we took over the registered task in total at work were 349 thousand people. Today are registered 707 thousand people, of which 523 thousand are private sector. Then how come the accounts that after the work has fallen, unemployment has gone uphill. I'm talking about figures extracted from registers. The average monthly salary in the private sector has increased by 10.5 percent. "These are figures for you who read, they are facts of institutions", said Rama.
