The latest figures published by the Institute of Statistics, on "Women and Men in Albania", contain data regarding the performance of deposit accounts and borrowings by gender for the period 2017-2021.

Thus, "Scan Intel" has analyzed the figures to understand which of the two sexes owns more deposits, men or women, and which of the two receive more loans from commercial banks.

The ratio between total deposits and deposits for each category for 2021 shows that it is men who continue to hold the "bag" of the house in Albania.

The report's figures show that women own 43.1% of deposits with 1,537,437 accounts in their name, compared to the opposite gender which owns 57% of the country's total deposits or 2,023,101 accounts. Surprisingly, the same ratio applies to credit accounts.

There are 57% of men and 43.2% of women who have a credit account with commercial banks in our country. The data show that during the last 5 years, these balances have not changed, remaining close to the same levels.

As for the total number of deposits, they are fixed at 3,560,538 such, against 400,669 borrower accounts, which translates to 11% or 1 in 10 accounts are loans, referring to the above categorization.
