Fires in Vlora, police identify suspected perpetrators of two arson cases in

Vlora Police have identified and arrested the suspected perpetrators of two arson cases, in Konispol and Dukat.

The structures of the Saranda Police Commissariat, as a result of rapid investigative actions to document cases of arson in the territory, made it possible to identify two citizens suspected of arson in Konispol.

Following the actions, citizen RL, 25 years old, resident of the village of Shales, Konispol, was arrested in flagrante delicto, and the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office where proceedings were initiated against citizen SI, 51 years old, resident of the village of Janjar, Konispol.

From the investigative actions, it is suspected that citizen RL, on 27.07.2025, left the apartment, violating the security measure "House arrest", for the criminal offense "Theft", and at around 23:30, in collaboration with citizen SI, he set fire to a pasture area, in the village of Janjar, Konispol, where as a result of the spread of the flames, about 8 hectares of grass and bushes were burned.

Dukat/ A 15-year-old is being prosecuted, suspected of setting fire to a plot of land with vegetation, in the village of Dukat.

The Criminal Investigation Specialists of the Orikum Police Station have identified the perpetrator of another arson case in the village of Dukat. In this case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against a 15-year-old citizen, who is suspected of having started a fire in the place called "Fëngu i Bozhanajve", in the village of Dukat, and as a result, an area of land with bushes and various vegetation was burned.

The procedural materials were passed on to the relevant prosecutors.

The Vlora Local Police Directorate appeals to all citizens not to light fires for any reason, as they will face the law and invites citizens to report any case of arson or illegality to 112, guaranteeing complete anonymity and immediate response.
