Kiri Mernica is the brother of the author of the murder of the police officer, 28-year-old Nevruz Cenalia, two days ago. The 23-year-old is still on the run. You were forced to leave the village where you lived after your son lost his life. What happened, Mrs. Selimi, who forced you to leave your village?

Ducate Selimi: We have lived for 20 years in the village of Sulaj in Fier. It has always been a problematic village, as there are armed men there. There are people who carry guns everywhere they go and the police unfortunately do not stop them. Even if he stops them at some point, he releases them directly when he goes to the police department, and so, from time to time, we have complaints. We reported, but our report was not taken into account. In 2015, they had yet another incident, because my brother was injured, because they threatened him with his life. In self-defense, my brother injured one of the perpetrators of the crime. Even there, the proper investigation was not done, because they never admitted that they were the perpetrators of the crime, because they wanted to take revenge, and the moment came when they stabbed my son in the throat on the night of Kurban Bayram, sacrificing a child in road without any kind of motive. It's just that my brother was injured by one of them.

So, the incident happened for revenge motives

It has not been accepted by the Prosecutor's Office, nor by the Court. They call it a hate murder, which to me is even worse. For a young man to be killed for hate is even more unacceptable in my opinion. I will follow him, I will not leave it at that. Even though they have given me Strasbourg, I will continue with SPAK in other ways and it will go until I achieve what I want. The Fier Police Department, in cooperation with the prosecutor's office and criminal experts, has made it possible to manipulate the file, destroyed the correct records and caused a very weak relationship in the prosecutor's office of Fier District.

The perpetrators are now convicted. What made you leave the village of Sulaj i Fieri?

The uncertainty! I have made it public six times. Six times I appeared in the media, I have all of them with evidence on YouTube and I asked for protection from the state, since they are armed, they are on the streets.

Have you had concrete threats, who threatened you?

We have concrete threats, my brother was threatened with a gun. They have life or death to remove the people who have come from the north there, because they want the lands for themselves, they also removed the natives. They are led by large groups. They are not the ones who commit the crimes, but the big ones do, they use them as pawns.

Do your conflicts with the Mërnica family continue?

Conflicts are open. I will never forgive my son's blood.

He was convicted by the Court of First Instance of Fier, but also by the Court of Appeal. But I'm not at all satisfied because they can get out of jail the day after tomorrow, because they have protection. They have their powerful people and they take them out with lek.

Who specifically threatened you? Have you had contact, for example, with the author of the murder two days ago, that is, with the brother of Kiri Mërnica, Azgan Mërnica?

We have never spoken to them since the incident happened. I go to the house sometimes because I want to see the house, and every time I go they are ready for war. They have weapons in their hands. I have notified the chief of serious crimes, I have notified everyone, but no one intervenes. There, everyone knows the danger of the village and no one interferes. Everything that is done, every action that is done in the fern police, they alert them, alert them and the operation fails. They are notified in every case, because they have their own people in the state police. I have enough evidence and facts that implicate the entire Fier Police Department, the head of the police station, and all of them for having manipulated my file, but I will make these public next time

Mrs. Selimi, the Mernica family has had a conflict only with your family in the village or even other families, because you say that it is a problematic family.

They have problems with everyone. Except they kill, they are ordinary thieves. They steal what you have in the house, they are thieves, parasitic people who live by stealing, killing and even some hashish roots that they plant in the canals there.

No doubt you are also shocked by the event of 2 days ago. What is the first thing you thought when you learned of this serious event?

The first thing that came to my mind is that the author is not caught, because he is helped by the police of Fier. The second road where that policeman was is very wide, two cars can pass freely. For me it is premeditated. The police get to work and the experts don't do things like they did to my son, but get to work.

You said that you left Fieri and now live in Tirana. Now that you have changed your residence, do the threats continue?

Now that I have changed my place of residence, I can honestly say that I am not afraid at all, because I am in my right, I speak about everything.

During the sessions, did you have a confrontation with the Mërnica family?

I have no business with those murderers. I have business with the state, with the state that made the falsification of the event.
