In a special episode that has sparked great interest on social media, Norwegian chess champion Magnus Carlsen has played an unusual match, this time pitting himself against artificial intelligence, ChatGPT.

And not only did he emerge victorious, but he completed the game without losing any of his pieces.

"Sometimes I get bored when I travel," Carlsen wrote on social media, posting photos from the match that lasted just 53 minutes.

It showed that all of ChatGPT's soldiers had been eliminated, while Carlsen had kept the board intact.

Moreover, ChatGPT accepted the defeat with sportsmanship and complimented Carlsen's clean style of play: "I give up. It was methodical, clean and precise," the artificial intelligence's response said.

Carlsen himself said that ChatGPT played well in the opening, but failed to maintain the pace further. When asked for his opinion on his performance, ChatGPT praised him highly: “Your game is characterized by patience, tactical knowledge and technical finishing.

I would rate him at 1800-2000 ELO, maybe even higher if he maintains this tactical acumen.” Recall that Carlsen has an official rating of 2839 ELO points, the highest in the world.
