Lorna Hajdini, the 37-year-old Albanian-born executive at the American bank JPMorgan, has vehemently denied allegations of sexual abuse against her Indian subordinate Chirayu Rana, calling the claims "fabricated and fraudulent."
Her legal team denied the allegations in a statement to The New York Post, in response to a lawsuit filed Monday in New York District Court under the pseudonym "John Doe."
According to her defense, the allegations stem from a workplace dispute and were taken out of context. The case was made public through internal and legal channels, attracting attention in the banking and corporate sectors.
Hajdini has stated that she will fully cooperate with the legal process to clear her name.
In the lawsuit, the 37-year-old director is accused of exerting pressure and abuse on her subordinate, including allegations of drugging him with substances such as Rohypnol and Viagra, as well as threats to remove his bonus in case of disobedience.
JPMorgan has strongly denied all allegations. A spokesman for the bank said that an internal investigation conducted by the company's human resources and legal departments found no evidence to support the claims.
According to the bank, the investigation has included analyzing the team's phone records and emails. While some employees have cooperated with the investigation, the plaintiff has reportedly refused to participate and provide key details about the case.
