The serious event in Shkodër, where 39-year-old Alma Arrazi drowned herself in the Buna river along with her three children, has sparked many discussions on the motives that may have led the deceased to take the extreme act.
In the studio of "Top Talk" with journalist Juli Xhokaxhi on Top Channel, former prosecutor Elisabeta Imeraj said that the role of institutions should be more active in preventing such events.
While the sociologist, Edmond Dragoti, said that he cannot simply see Alma Arraz as a victim, pointing out the extreme act undertaken by her with the sacrifice of three children.
"I cannot simply see as a victim a mother who dares her most sacred thing, to sacrifice her children because of a revenge, to make her husband guilty. This is a macabre crime," said the sociologist.
According to him, such an event may have been caused by a great anger of the deceased towards her husband as well as by a lack of self-esteem despite the fact that she was older than her husband.
"For me it is not pain because pain has no reaction until crime. This is great anger, and anger causes revenge. Such angers when they are involved with hate or love, is simply a revenge of her being unable to find solutions on her own. Having a family environment that can't help. The fact that there was an age difference with her husband should have given her some kind of self-esteem.
The complex is the inability to react in other forms. Living in a very backward environment. This often happens to people who cannot manage their anger. To be able to sacrifice yourself shows incompetence and weakness, but to sacrifice your children means that you are committing an unforgivable crime" - added the sociologist
