The murder of businessman Ardian Nikulaj

The State Police announced today the investigation into the execution of businessman Ardian Nikulaj a week ago in Shengjin.

Thus, 6 people participated in the organization and execution of this assassination. Albanian-British Edmond Haxhia, 4 Britons, Harry Simson, Thomas Mithan, Steven Hunt, Harriet Bridgeman, as well as Portuguese Ruben Saraiva. The latter was also the person who executed Nikulaj.

The person who ordered the murder is suspected to be Edmond Haxhia, who is being investigated as the organizer, orderer and financier of the crime.

Edmond Haxhia is the son of Elton Lekstakaj's uncle. The Lekstakajt tribe had a conflict with Nikulaj since 97. Haxjia has Albanian and British citizenship.

As for the motives, Rrumbullaku said that it is about blood feud.

The story of the murders

The history of clashes between the Nikulaj and Lekstakaj tribes in Lezhë has its origin in 1996, where the conflict started at a gas station at the exit of the city of Lezhë for 10 thousand old lek.

Ardian Nikulaj's brother together with another person were sellers at the fuel in question and one of the members of the Lekstakaj family was supplying the car.

After the fuel supply, the sellers argued with the driver claiming that he had not made the payment of 10,000 old leks for the fuel supply.

After the verbal argument, the driver of the vehicle left, returning armed a few minutes later and shot at two employees, leaving them dead on the spot, including Ardian Nikulaj's brother.

That's where the story of blood feud begins, where a few months later Gëzim Lekstakaj and Laurent Gjetja, who was the nephew of the family, were killed.

While in 1999, Gjovalin Lekstakaj was killed and Pjeter Lekstakaj was seriously injured, these events are still unclear.
