Greece is also taking waiters and bartenders from Albania. On the eve of the summer season, the country needs more than 25,000 employees, and the figure risks expanding.
"Greece is looking for employees, it issued a rule that pays waiters 1,000 euros, pays insurance during working hours and provides them with temporary permits and residence permits. And this only happens with a work contract and it is tempting to leave Albania", says Rrahman Kasa, from the Albanian Tourist Union, for A2.
Unable to keep employees despite the increase in wages, Albanian entrepreneurs in the field of tourism are looking towards Asia.
"Just in the last 2 weeks, the 5 largest hotels in the country have received from 40 to 70 employees from Asia, mainly from countries that do not have problems with immigration", says Kasa.
Representatives from the sector request the intervention of the government in order not to risk that the summer season is also threatened by the lack of employees.
