Police seize and fine two speedboats in Ksamil, operating without proper

Two vessels, a speedboat and a dinghy, have been seized in Saranda after it emerged that they were transporting tourists without the necessary tourist certificate to carry out this activity.

They were denounced on social media as they were transporting tourists and appeared overloaded.

The owners of the vehicles were fined 100 thousand new lek each.

Police announcement:

Regarding a post published on the online portal "JOQ Albania", where two boats with people on board were photographed near the coast in the "Tre Ishujt" area, Ksamil, we clarify to the public opinion that:

Immediately after the release of the images, the services of the Port Saranda Border Police Station were dispatched to the reported location. During the field inspection, it was possible to ascertain and verify two vessels that were in that area, which results without any defined restrictions.

The verifications revealed that the two vessels, one a dinghy owned by citizen EM, and the other a plastic motorboat owned by citizen RL, were operating without a tour operator certificate.

An administrative measure of 100,000 lek each was imposed on both vehicles, as their owners did not have the relevant documentation to exercise their activity as a tourist operator at sea. The vehicles were also administratively blocked at SPK Port Saranda.

The Vlora Local Directorate for Border and Migration assures citizens and tourists that it will continue to control and monitor the coastline, with the aim of guaranteeing order, security and respect for the legal framework in the field of maritime tourism.

We invite citizens to report any violation or illegal action that violates security in border areas, through the number 112.
