The government of Sali Berisha, starting from 2010 to 2013, entrusted companies connected with the Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska with tenders for a value of 55 million euros.

The data comes out precisely after an investigation by Shqiptarja.com following the statement of Sali Berisha who, as usual, accuses Edi Rama of having given Trema Engineering 2 in 2017, in which the oligarch is an indirect shareholder, a PPP concession for the Shushica hydro plant , while as always the Berisha family media denounce as a scandal the fact that the same companies connected to the oligarch won 3 public tenders worth 20 million euros during the Rama government.

The companies under indictment are called Strabag and Trema Engineering 2. Strabag was founded in 1929 and is the largest Austrian construction company headquartered in Vienna and one of the largest in Europe with subsidiaries all over the world, from the United States to the countries Arabic.

Trema Engineering 2 is an Albanian company founded in 2001 whose owner is 100% Strabag. The scandal according to Berisha and his spokesmen is that one of the shareholders of Strabag (and therefore Trema) is the Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska who owns 25.9% of Strabag's shares through the Cypriot company Rasteria.

Other shareholders are Uniqa-Reiffeisen-level investors with 29.5%, the Haselsteiner family with 28.3% while 14.4% of the shares are traded on the stock exchange owned by thousands of small shareholders. This is the situation at least until April 2022, when the Russian oligarch was sanctioned by the European Union (due to the war in Ukraine) leaving the participation of shares in Strabag and consequently also from Trema.

The name of Oleg Deripaska, a close associate of Vladimir Putin, became popular in Albania these days because it is about the Russian oligarch, sanctioned by the Americans since 2016 (but valid for European Union countries only from April 2022), for which FBI agent Charles McGonigal, Edi Rama's friend with whom he has met several times, ended up in prison.

The theory presented these two days by Berisha is that Edi Rama favored the Russian oligarch by allowing him to win tenders and concessions that did not belong to him. Berisha's fantasy goes so far as to hypothesize an affair between Rama and Putin himself.  

Për konçesionin PPP të centralit të Shushicës, në të vërtetë, Trema Engineering kontrollon vetëm 33 % dhe gara është fituar në janar 2017, pra 9 muaj para se agjenti i FBI-së të takonte për herë të parë Edi Ramën, takim i bërë me 9 shtator 2017.

Por, nëse është e vërtetë që Trema dhe Stabag ka fituar 3 gara nga Fondi Shqiptar i Zhvillimit nga 2019 deri më sot për një vlerë 20 milionë euro, si e justifikon Berisha faktin që të njëjtat dy shoqëri kanë fituar 9 gara nga 2010 deri në 2013 për një vlerë totale prej 55 milionë eurosh, pra kur ishte ai në Qeveri?

So these works show that Sali Berisha was in an affair with the Russian oligarch friend of Putin according to the accusations he makes to Edi Rama? The answer is much simpler. Trabag wins competitions all over the world including the United States and wins competitions held by international organizations.

Its annual turnover reaches 1 billion euros and it has been working for a long time in the Eastern market, including Albania. They did this when Sali Berisha was in power, and they do it now that Edi Rama is in power. At least there is no scandal here.
