After the tragedy in Shkodër, where Alma Arrazi ended her life by drowning along with her three minor children in the Buna river, reports circulated in the media that her husband Erdgys Arrazi had been connected to criminal groups in Shkodër.
But was Alma afraid to denounce her husband and why did she never do so? Why didn't she go to the Shkodra police for help or to a non-governmental organization? Or fear the fact that her husband and brother were connected to the cultivation of narcotic plants in the area and to the district police and her report would fall on deaf ears. Alma Arrazi's own sister, in a television appearance for one of the media in Tirana, has shown chilling details about the last months of her married life, where she says that Alma and the children had reached the point where they had no bread to eat at home. This is because Ergdysi spent the money he had with his girlfriend a few years younger.
"My soul knows how much I have tried to fill her mind, come stay with your sister. She could not give food to her child. Eri ate lunches and dinners with his girlfriend, he couldn't afford to buy food for the children. Recently, everything has been missing, even bread has been missing for my sister and my sister's children", Alma's sister confesses. But how true are these accusations or claims about the mistreatment of her brother-in-law to her sister, this remains part of an in-depth investigation.
Ergdys Arrazi has already been sentenced to prison by the Court of Shkodra on the charge of 'causing suicide', which in the maximum case is assessed at a sentence of 7 years of imprisonment. The prosecution will have to look for other circumstances related to the event. Which must be said to take place mostly during the time that Edison Arrazi, Ergdys Arrazi's brother, returns from imprisonment in the shared apartment. A track which can be excluded, but which cannot be left out of attention even because of the criminal records that the two brothers carry with them.
And especially to the question of what is the past of 31-year-old Ergdys Arrazi, the father and husband who is currently detained in prison for domestic violence and causing the suicide of his wife Alma Arrazi and their three children? What are the events he is involved in? Ergdys Arrazi's name became known to the public for the first time in 2021. At that time, his brother Edison Arrazi was arrested by the Shkodra Police, as being connected to the murder in this city of Endri Mustafa. The victim was a known usurer, who was found murdered in the Meadows area on May 17, 2021, just a few meters from his apartment, executed with a bullet in the head, and two others in the body. The 32-year-old, father of three children, was initially reported missing to the police by his wife.
Where the Mustafa family, unlike the prosecution's investigations, which revealed Ibrahim Licin as the orderer of the murder, and Ergys Maljan as the executor, made strong accusations against the Arrazi brothers and among them the Ergdys, who according to them were the real killers of their man , paid by Astmer Bilali, another strongman in Shkodër.
The victim's mother, in this case Endri Mustafa, continued to stick to this version, where she said that together with Ergys Maljan, the brothers Edison and Ergdys Arrazi also participated in the execution. "What I can say is that the perpetrators of the murder of my son, Endri Mustafa, in addition to Ergys Maljas, who ambushed him, are also Edison Arrazi known as 'Coli' and his brother Ergdys Arrazi, who executed they did it by order of the citizen Astmer Bilali. This is because Ergys Malja has been in and out of the Bilali family a lot, which lives very close to them," Fahrije Alija testified.
Endri Mustafa's mother further said that her son had a lot of company with brothers Edison and Ergdys Arrazi, who were also acquaintances of Astmer Bilal, who is known as a dangerous person in Kiras. But Endri Mustafa's mother did not give any specific opinion why she thought that her son's killer was Astmer Bilali, and not Ibrahim Lici, as Ergys Malja told the investigators.
"Endri has been working since he was 18 years old and has always tried to do good for his family and society. Lastly, he engaged in usury and lent money to people and thus provided income. He had many friends and acquaintances, such as brothers Edison and Ergdys Arrazi. To my knowledge, he has not had a conflict with anyone. With Ergys Maljan, there was no rapprochement, since he was half his age", she says. The investigative group asked citizen Edison Arrazi, who was directly accused by Endri Mustafa's mother, as the murderer of his son, as a person who might have knowledge of the event. But he denied having anything to do with the incident, citing the fact that he had been in his apartment that evening as an alibi.
"Citizen Edison Arrazi, who is accused by citizen Fahrije Alija, of being the one who accompanied her son Endri Mustafa on the day of the incident to the Livadhe area, as well as participating in his murder, on account of citizen Astmer Bilali, of has denied these accusations. He clarifies that he does not know citizen Ergys Malja, and on the night of the incident, after 10:00 p.m., he was at his house. And that he met Endri Mustafa about 6 months before the event, when Endri bought a piece of land in the Bypass area, near one of his plots of land. Since inerts have been dumped on his land, in the above conversation, Endri has asked him to throw inerts on his land as well, to raise it to street level. So, his acquaintance and connection with Endri was mainly when he was going to the ground", it is stated in the investigative file.
Ergdys Arrazi took the same position with his brother, who outside the Shkodra Court, said that his brother Edisoni was in the apartment on the night when Endri Mustafa is thought to have been executed. While the drugs that are said to have been found in his apartment, according to Ergdysi, they were actually found in a warehouse that is far from their apartment. "My brother has nothing to do with that murder, nor with the drugs that the police say they found. That night he was in the apartment and has not moved since then", says Ergdys Arrazi. Only some time after he was detained by the police, Edison Arrazi was declared innocent by justice in connection with the murder of Endri Mustafa. But he served his sentence in Fushë-Kruja Prison, for the amount of drugs found in the apartment during the search.
While the investigative group created the reasonable belief that the organizer and killer of Endri Mustafa was Ibrahim Lici, who is said to have had as an accomplice in this murder, Ergys Maljan, this was confirmed according to the investigative group by the biological evidence found at the scene. But to return to the tragic event of the loss of life of Alma and her three children, can this story be closed here without an in-depth investigation. A cry for help where society has its own missing role. Where teachers do not do their role in schools. Where psychologists are not able to understand the problems brought by a child from their family. Where the role of social service is invisible. Or where the police support the strong and their role in the field is existing. Will it be the case of Alma and her three children, the moment when as a society we will have to stop and ask ourselves, where are we going? Because Alma's act was not a punishment for her husband, but also for a society that did not deserve to hear her cry for help. And here perhaps we should all feel guilty from first to last. And let's not bury our heads in the sand like ostriches, let's think about the deep crisis of amorality we have entered as a society.
