"The President of the Republic recalled France's steadfast support for Kosovo's independence and European integration. He underlined his commitment to the dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo, in support of European mediation and called for the full implementation of the Brussels-Ohrid agreements", says the communique issued by the Elysee Palace.
It is further emphasized that Macron welcomed the implementation of the decision of the Constitutional Court for the Monastery of Deçan.
"However, he underlined the importance that France attaches to, even in the context of Kosovo's application for membership in the Council of Europe, the rapid and irreversible progress of the implementation by the Kosovo authorities of the Association of Municipalities with a Serbian majority", the communique states.
The French President expressed regret for the failure to vote for the dismissal of several mayors of municipalities in the north of Kosovo.
According to the communique, Macron recalled that it remains necessary to organize new elections as soon as possible, with the participation of the Serbian population.
