3-week course for 15 AMP investigators, US Embassy: More police accountability

Fifteen AMP investigators at the Ministry of the Interior will be trained in crime investigation for three weeks.

The American Embassy in Tirana, through a status on Facebook, writes that this program aims to increase the skills of Judicial Police and law enforcement officers in the investigation of crimes, meeting national standards.

"Today, September 23, the US Department of Justice - ICITAP, in partnership with the Albanian Police Oversight Agency (AMP), launched a three-week course on crime investigation for 15 AMP investigators at the Ministry of Interior.

This program, first conceived in 2022, aims to increase the skills of Judicial Police and Law Enforcement Officers in the investigation of crimes, meeting national standards.

Supported by senior officials in the Albanian government, this course has already trained over 160 officers and continues to build capacity in law enforcement in Albania.

The US Embassy is proud to support this initiative for more police accountability on the road to EU integration," the Embassy wrote.
