"When clients came, she would run away, while I had sex with them"/ The minor recounts the nightmare she experienced from a trafficking network: They sent me to an Albanian!

Three members of a sex trafficking ring that exploited underage Bulgarian and Romanian girls in Thessaloniki have been remanded in prison by a court decision.

The network was denounced by a Bulgarian minor, who was locked in an apartment in Thessaloniki, and managed to escape when she was told she would be sent to Germany to continue working as a prostitute.

According to the minor's testimony, she had a romantic relationship with a 16-year-old in her homeland.

"I got pregnant and gave birth to a girl with him, but without recognizing the child even though he knew it was his."

She ran away from her parents' apartment and went to her partner's house where he lived with his family and stayed there with the girl.

However, when the child was 6 months old, she decided to separate and returned to her parents' home. During this time, she met  a married compatriot, 12 years older than her, and, as the minor testified, "at first we were dating and then I started a romantic relationship with him."

They left together for Italy to find work, leaving her child in Bulgaria. In Italy, as the minor testified, he “made forged documents,” but was unable to find work.

Then, he told her that "I will find you a good job in Greece where he had acquaintances and that I would make a lot of money from it."

According to the minor, "since I had to work and since I was in love with him... who had told me he would divorce me and marry me, I believed him, I decided to travel with him from Italy to Greece."

On the ship to Greece, she asked him  "what exactly I would do in Greece and then said I would work as a prostitute for various clients that he would find me  . "

Immediately , "then I reacted because I didn't want to do this job, but he hit me and started cursing and threatening me and told me that's exactly what would happen."

"I was scared and at the same time I was in love with him and so I stopped reacting," the minor added.

Upon arriving in Greece, he told her he was going back to Italy and dropped her off at his relative's house. A few days later, two unknown men drove her to an apartment on a main street in Thessaloniki.

In this apartment "there lived another girl, an Albanian, whose name I don't remember, about 30 years old, the 2 men left me there and left."

The man I was in a relationship with informed me over the phone that "I would now start working as a prostitute and that I should do exactly as the Albanian woman and her boyfriend told me."

So, "late at night, various clients would come to the Albanian woman's house and after drinking, she would leave the house, leaving me with them to have sex with them."

And she emphasized in her testimony: "Then, they would arrange for the next client to come. Every day I would have sex with about two clients. I didn't see if the clients gave this woman money, but I believe that each client paid her money to have sex with me, since I heard the word 'money'."

Then they took her back to "A"'s apartment in Thessaloniki, where "another girl from Romania lived there and worked as a prostitute."

"Every time "A" left the house, he would lock me inside and, although I couldn't communicate with him in Greek, I understood that I was a prisoner."

In this apartment, the minor adds, "I had sex with about 3 clients every day after a meeting."

While in Thessaloniki, “no one paid me for the work I was doing even though they were making a lot of money from it and I don’t know how much, because I don’t know how much each client paid.” As if  all the rest weren’t enough, they informed her that “they were going to send her by bus to Germany to a friend, a Bulgarian who lives there, to work as a prostitute again.”

So, before this fear, one night she found the opportunity and after hastily gathering her things, broke a shutter and managed to get out. She fled to the Police Station, seeking protection and reporting what she had experienced.
