Wanted for arson at the fruit and vegetable market in Lushnja, 48-year-old

Police have arrested Klodian Çina, the 48-year-old wanted for the fire at the fruit and vegetable market.

According to the police, he was hiding in Durrës. Security camera footage shows that he was accompanied by another person at the time he set fire to the market, but the latter did not appear to have been involved.

"Also, he is suspected of being the author of the theft of a bicycle in the city of Lushnja, which he used to move around the city, two days before the incident. The bicycle was found and seized as material evidence," the police announced.

The investigative materials have been submitted to the Fier prosecutor's office for further action.

A 48-year-old wanted man suspected of arson in a fruit and vegetable market, which caused significant material damage, has been arrested and taken into custody.

The services of the Lushnja Police Commissariat, after a well-organized investigative work and intensive actions to locate the perpetrator, in cooperation with the services of the Durrës Local Police Directorate, finalized the police operation codenamed "Arsonist".

As part of this operation, citizen K. Ç., 48 years old, resident of Durrës, previously wanted by the police, was captured and arrested.

From the investigations conducted, it is suspected that this citizen, on 19.05.2026, during the early hours of the morning, set fire to the fruit and vegetable market in the "Xhevdet Nepravishta" neighborhood, in the city of Lushnja, and then left the scene, hiding in the city of Durrës.

He is also suspected of stealing a bicycle in the city of Lushnja, which he used to move around the city, two days before the incident. The bicycle was found and seized as material evidence.

From the examination of the footage, it appears that, along with citizen K. Ç., another person appears, who, based on the investigations so far, does not appear to be implicated in the arson.

Under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, in-depth investigative actions continue for the complete legal documentation of the event, as well as for the identification of other persons who may be related to this case.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier, for the criminal offenses of "Destruction of property by fire" and "Theft", charged against citizen K. Ç.
