Two illegal Albanian immigrants have been caught by British police after they found £100,000 in proceeds from bar houses.
Two Albanians, Desar Xhakolli and Astrit Baja, had planted 73 plants in a sophisticated cannabis plant on the streets of Hull after being tipped off when a homeowner tried to change the locks and suddenly found out about them.
The police discovered Xhakolli and Baja inside. There were 73 cannabis plants and a sophisticated setup, including lights, transformers, wires and several bags of soil and fertilizer.
The plants had a potential yield of 55g of skunk cannabis harvested for each plant, making a potential total of 4.02kg. Police also found two large cardboard boxes containing 8.91kg of skunk cannabis, with a potential street value of £89,100.
Xhakolli had £400 and Baja £180. Both pleaded guilty on the basis that they were gardeners.
Xhakolli had learned English while in detention. He had passed his final exam and hoped to eventually become a barber and put this matter behind him.
Denis Xhakolli was arrested in 2016 in Berat after the police officers found an unlicensed shotgun and a quantity of 25 grams of marijuana narcotics in his apartment.
