Lezha police have announced a search for Xhejson Seferaj, 27, and Ilirjan Gjoka, 40, after they are suspected of threatening the family members of the Socialist Party candidate in Dajç, Klotilda Ndreca, with weapons.

According to the police, the incident occurred on Sunday evening, where Seferaj and Gjoka initially followed the candidate's family members in two vehicles and then threatened them with weapons, for claims that they said were related to the electoral campaign.

"Their wanted announcement was made after at around 23:25 on 04.05.2025, citizens EN and DN notified the Lezha Police Operations Room that initially the vehicle they were traveling in was followed by 2 other vehicles, and then in the village of Dajç, they were threatened with weapons by citizens traveling in the two vehicles, for claims related to the electoral campaign of their sister, candidate for deputy of the Lezha district, citizen KN. Immediately after the notification, the Police services launched investigations, in order to clarify the authorship and circumstances of the case. From the investigative actions so far, it is suspected that the authors of the threat are citizens Xh. S., 27 years old and I. Gj., 40 years old. The Police services are continuing intensive work to capture them. Also, under the direction of the Lezha Prosecutor's Office, investigations are being carried out for "All the circumstances of this case have been clarified and documented with legal evidence," the police announced.

 


 

The SP's political leader for Lezha, Ulsi Manja, also reacted to the event.

The Minister of Justice accuses the DP's candidate for deputy, Gjin Gjoni, of having to "take political and legal responsibility for the violent climate he is instigating in Lezha, Kurbin and Mirdita". Manja emphasizes that "the time when Gjin himself built crime scenes with the "hammer" of the old justice system has ended with the Justice Reform".

Ulsi Manja's full reaction:

The serious incident that occurred yesterday evening in Dajç, Lezha, where the father, sister, and entire electoral headquarters of our candidate for MP, Ms. Klotilda Ndreca, were threatened with weapons, is an intolerable act that goes beyond any boundary of political conflict.

Candidate Gjin Gjoni must take political and legal responsibility for the violent climate he is instigating in Lezha, Kurbin and Mirdita. If he wants to appear brave, let him stick to this strategy of intimidation until the end and not play the "brave friend", manipulating the event out of fear of punishment, but let him take pride in his bravery and not hide behind a finger!

The incident has film and audio evidence that clearly proves the threats and violence and is available to the investigation. The time when Gjini himself built the crime scenes with the "hammer" of the old justice system has ended with the Justice Reform.

We established the justice reform and SPAK precisely for cases like this – so that no one can hide behind power or political connections, but be equal before the law. This case is now in the hands of the new justice system and no attempt to drag it out or distort it will be tolerated.

Gjin Gjoni and anyone else who thinks like him will bear full responsibility for escalating the tense climate and ruining the political atmosphere in the Lezha region.

Today I officially informed the OSCE/ODIHR long-term observer mission about the event in Dajç and, as the political leader of the Socialist Party for the Lezha region, I guaranteed them my personal commitment and that of the party I represent for a fair and peaceful electoral process.

For us socialists, what is happening these last few days with the local DP and the one in the center, is an old movie that we have seen in 10 campaigns in a row. We know the ending – not only us, but every Albanian. And this is how it will happen on May 11th, remember:

-• In the closing meetings they will declare victory and sing the anthem,

 - In the morning their ears will start to droop,

 - At lunch they will drag out the countdown with banal excuses,

 - At dinner they will say: "They stole them from us again!"

With the same director, there can't be a different film! On May 11th, we will beat PD+ASHM & Co for the tenth time!

I call on all SP supporters not to fall prey to deliberate provocations and tensions. We will win with citizenship, with a project and with commitment – ​​not with weapons and threats.

We clearly distance ourselves from any act of violence or illegal action that undermines free elections and we demand that the competent institutions investigate any violation of electoral law, without any exception!
