According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, the earthquake had a magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was 8 km north-west of the city of Bilishti, while the tremors were also felt in the city of Korça.

Seismic tremors were registered at 00:34, as the earthquake was at a depth of 5 km.
