Accused of the 'Partizani' file, Malltezi makes another attempt for
Sali Berisha and Jamarber Malltezi

Jamarbër Malltezi, the son-in-law of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, a defendant in the "Partizani" case, has made his next attempt for freedom in the High Court.

Malltezi is requesting that the High Court revoke the security measure now that the case has been referred to the Special Court for trial.

Malltezi is challenging in this court the decisions of two lower courts for leaving him under "house arrest", a measure he has been serving since November 2023.

Malltezi based his appeal to the Supreme Court on the Strasbourg decision in the case "Gëllçi v. Albania".

Referring to the decision of the European Court of Human Rights, which, in reviewing the complaint of the former Director General of Albanian Radio-Television, Thoma Gëllçi, found a violation of the Convention for the period of detention, Malltez's lawyers are requesting the abolition of the "house arrest" measure.
