Alexander Bobovnikov

The court of Tirana has decided to release him from the cell, thereby rejecting the request of the Russian authorities for the extradition of Alexander Bobonvikov, who was arrested 15 days ago as soon as he got off a private plane with his friends in Rinas.

The Ministry of Justice, after the relevant verifications, responded to the court's request to refuse the extradition of the 56-year-old.

Bobovnikov came from Germany, and although he was temporarily detained in Italy, a country which did not accept Russia's request for extradition, he moved freely throughout Europe.

He declared after his arrest in Albania that he had come for tourist reasons, but the court left him in prison for 15 days.

Bobovnikov is wanted internationally by Russia for a 200,000 euro fraud committed in his native country.

The 56-year-old was arrested on April 22 last year in Florence and was released from prison after a week.

Italy, in fact, has denied the extradition, marking the first time that such a request of Vladimir Putin's country has been opposed after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Bobovnikov is known as an opponent of President Vladimir Putin, who has repeatedly opposed the invasion of Ukraine.
