A serious incident took place in Dhërmi, where the receptionist of a hotel was shot dead a few minutes after midnight, around 00:30.
The victim is Eraldo Nevruzi, 31 years old from Tirana. While the author has been identified as Gerald Shehu, from Tepelena, resident in England. Shehu is co-owner of the hotel where the crime took place.
According to the police, Shehu shot the 31-year-old man in one of the hotel rooms and after disposing of the body, fled towards the neighboring country, Greece. He allegedly left the hotel around 1am.
There are two preliminary tracks of the investigation, one for a banal momentary conflict and the other for prior acquaintance and involvement in illegal activities in England where both the victim and the perpetrator lived and worked.
The injured is still missing and has not been reported to any of the hospitals. It is known that every summer season the suspected author went to Dhërmi, while the rest of the year he stayed in England.
