38 cars were stolen across the country during the first 3 months of 2023. Of these reported cases, only 20 of them have been discovered by the police, with the perpetrators mostly having criminal records.

Tirana and Shkodra are the cities where it was reported that there were more vehicle thefts.

The most preferred areas where vehicles are stolen are those where there is a lack of lighting and security cameras. However, there are not few cases when their theft is carried out in good neighborhoods monitored by cameras.

For their theft, the perpetrators need only a few minutes, as shown in some videos seized by the police.

These cars are then dismantled to be sold for spare parts, or their data is duplicated. But their use by criminal groups remains a concern, TV Klan reports.
